Ugly Christmas Sweaters

Hey there! How’s your Monday going? Mine has been a good one!

Jazzercise & Breakfast

I started the morning with my Monday AM Jazzercise class. SIX people showed up. That’s right. 6. I couldn’t believe it. I’m usually lucky to have 1 or 2, so this girl was definitely shocked! It was a fun class even though I’m pretty sure all the students were sleep-walking through most of it. 🙂

Once I got cleaned up and to the office to start the day, I was hungry and ready for food! I was rather excited for my morning meal. I found some seasonal flavors of Clif Bars while grocery shopping yesterday, and I couldn’t wait to try them out!

photo(122)This Iced Gingerbread Clif Bar was extra gingery and festive. I loved it!

image(14)I also bought a Pumpkin Pie Spice Clif bar that may be a good breakfast for tomorrow. I’m such a sucker for the holiday flavors! I’m a food marketers dream during the holiday months, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. 🙂

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

Saturday night was a fun one. Nick and I were invited to my friend Carley’s Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party!

image(12)We wore matching sweater vests! Mine is compliments of my mother. She loves her festive sweaters and is kind enough to let me borrow one for this party each year. We were the matchy-ist couple there!

The night went on with lots of eating of homemade goodies and games around the house. Jenga was our main event. 🙂

photo(123)Our game got pretty intense, and this happened shortly after I took this photo…

image(16)I learned that Jenga really stresses me out towards the end of the game!

I munched on veggies and dip along with some cookies and other goodies. Carley goes all out with her hosting, so I love going to her parties!

Jessica was also there with her boyfriend. Jessica is my ‘Little Sister’ from our sorority, Kappa Delta. I was so happy she made it with her boyfriend since I haven’t seen her in ages!

photo(55)Such a cutie! So this night turned into more than just a party – it was really more of a small reunion of friends that haven’t had time to see each other lately. But it worked out great. I chatted with the gals while Nick bonded with the other boyfriends outside. 🙂

It was a great night and put me into the holiday spirit for sure. I hope you have some fun events to attend during the next 2 weeks. We can only indulge ‘guilt-free’ for another week or so. So get together with your friends and family and have some fun!

And happy holidays from the sweater vest couple. 🙂

Jazzercise Halloween & A Giant Cookie

Hey there! Halloween is almost over, but Nick and I are still getting a couple trick-or-treaters as the night winds down. We should probably turn off our porchlight soon before Mac has a heartattack from all the kids dressed up in costumes ringing the doorbell. Poor little guy has been hiding underneath my bed most of the evening!

Jazzercise Halloween

I headed over to my Jazzercise center right after work at 5 pm to teach the last class of the evening. I walked into the end of the 4:30 class where Andrea, a fellow instructor, was teaching her class while dressed as a cowgirl!

photo(91) image(3)Haha she is so funny. She kept complaining about teaching in jeggings, boots, and a cowboy hat. But she was rocking it even through all the sweat. 🙂

I only put on some fairy wings to teach my class. A full costume just wasn’t in the plans for me this year.

We had a fun class full of lots of sweat followed by lots of candy and sweet treats.

Two of my students dressed up as Thing 1 and Thing 2! (Ignore the sweat – this was after they took 2 classes!)

image(4)Dede (on the right) was SO thoughtful and brought me a giant cookie cake for my birthday!

photo(89)YUMMM!! I immediately knew what would be my dessert tonight! I made it home after class and had a small sliver of the cake before hopping in the shower.

image(1)Then post shower,  I had some veggies and a wrap with ham and cheese (unpictured) before I ate another little slice.

photo(90)I couldn’t stay away from it! Nick loved it too. His reaction to me bringing it in from the car after class was priceless though… “What are we gonna do with that?!” Well….we’re gonna eat it. Or least I am. HA!

It was a fun little evening, to say the least. I love dancing with my Jazzer sistas, especially on holidays when we get to be a little silly.

I hope you’ve had a wonderful Halloween. I still have a lot of leftover candy + a cookie cake now, so I think I’m set for my sugar fix for a few days. Tis the season for sugar comas!

Tomorrow I’ll be spending the first half of my day relaxing & shopping  with my momma, then Nick and I will have a nice dinner together after he gets off work. It should be a wonderful 24th birthday weekend!

Nighty night, and I’ll see you when I’m a year older!

Muggy 10K Morning

Happy Hump day everyone! Did you and all your coworkers watch the Geico camel commercial this morning in celebration of it being Wednesday?!

what-day-is-dtuhu0I sure hope so. It’s kinda a ritual around my office. 🙂

Morning Run

I woke up at 5 AM today hoping to hear the rain had stopped. The radar was clear! Woohooo! I was so thankful for a clearing in the radar so I could get my usual Wednesday morning run in. On the training plan for today was 5+ miles. Meaning I needed to reach 5 miles but keep on going depending on how I feel and if time allows.

I made it out the door around 5:15, and it felt like I had just hit a brick wall. It was HUMID and much hotter than my morning runs have been lately. 64 degrees is not my style anymore! Luckily I dressed very lightly to help keep me cool, but I was sweating like a pig regardless due to the high humidity.

The whole run was a struggle. I wouldn’t call it my most difficult run, but it was not fun to keep pushing myself today. I think this was a mix of the temperature and my tired body from teaching two Jazzercise classes last night.

photo(113)This is the slowest pace I’ve had in a while, so I’m chalking this up to the weather I guess. Oh well, today wasn’t meant to be a crazy tempo run, so I’ll take a slower 10K before my workday starts over no run at all!

Jazzercise Evaluation

I’m still feeling a little off after my run this morning. I think my body was more fatigued than I realized before I headed out today. My 5:40 pm class last night was extra intense. I videotaped myself to send into corporate for evaluation! I have until November 15th to get a good class recorded and sent in, so I wasn’t too nervous when I set up the camera last night. I have lots of other classes that can be recorded between now and then! But once class started, I went into super instructor mode and worked really hard since the camera was on me.

About once or twice a year we get evaluated by Jazzercise, Inc. Sometimes they send out Quality Coordinators to visit our classes and do the evaluation on the spot. And other times they will just request a video. Lucky me only has to send in a video this time! I think the video from last night’s class should be more than sufficient to send in. The students and I were tired and disgustingly sweaty after the class, so that has to count for something!

Birthday Pants

Soooo, you all know my birthday is this Friday! I’ve so excited! And Nick has been stewing over what to get me for a gift. I keep telling him I’m not sure because I really don’t need or want much right now! But we finally came to the conclusion that I need some good, thermal running tights for my half-marathon in January. I found a pair on Lululemon that I fell in love with, and Nick obliged to get them for me for my birthday!

Screen Shot 2013-10-30 at 11.35.05 AMI picked out these Speed Tights, and I cannot wait to get them and try them out!

The solid black color was sold out in my size, so I opted for the black with a pink waistband. I love their running pants because of all the pockets! There’s even a nice big pocket on the side of the leg that will be perfect for storing my phone or my gloves if I start getting too warm. They should be here by Saturday or early next week, so let’s hope the temps are cool enough for me to try these babies out!

The rest of my day will be busy with work and cleaning my house! With my family coming into town for my birthday on Friday and Saturday, I have some major cleaning to do. Mostly vacuuming and putting things away, so I’m hoping I’m feeling extra productive when I get home at 5 this evening. I also need to pull out an old Halloween costume for Jazzercise tomorrow…. Should make for a fun evening!

Enjoy the rest of your day, and I’ll see you later!
