Katie & Jesse’s Wedding, Part II

After Katie got her dress on, and we were all set to go, it was professional picture time! Which means I had to put my phone away and my personal photos came to a stand still until after the ceremony.

photo(112)But this is when Nick arrived (yay!) and snapped a couple for me during the ceremony.

photo(111)Oh did I mention it was POURING?! Yes raining cats and dogs. And it made for the most memorable and special little wedding I have ever been to. The couple shared that large umbrella in the center. And that’s me with the awkward hot pink one!

With the entire wedding party standing under our umbrellas, I can only imagine the fun professional photos that will come from this rainy ceremony!

photo(114)It was so magical because everyone in the crowd was standing around the quaint little garden under their own umbrellas. And what a great story! “Yes, it was raining, but we braved the weather with our umbrellas and recited our vows on top of the little waterfall in the garden with our family and friends by our sides…”   So romantic! And yes, I started crying when Katie was reciting her vows. It happens every time!

The ceremony was over within 10 minutes flat, we took a few photos (since the rain was letting up a bit!), and then headed inside to the reception to dry out and warm up!

IMG_2071_2Happy to be inside! And also happy that my beautiful bouquet made it through the rain. Nick liked my bouquet too…

IMG_2075_2HA! Weirdo.. And her centerpieces turned out really cute! Except they wouldn’t let us light the candles. Boo. So we got little battery operated ones in silent protest…

IMG_2070_2Anyways, we were lucky and got seats right next to the buffet line and the cake table!

IMG_2054 IMG_2056_2It was beautiful and tasted amazing. The cake was white and buttery with real strawberries between each layer. Yes, I ate LOTS of cake. And their custom toppers were so cute!

IMG_2055_2It’s hard to see in my pic, but it has Mr. & Mrs. Jones in a pretty script. And the grooms cake had fun toppers as well!

IMG_2058 IMG_2059_2This cake was chocolate, which complimented all the vanilla/strawberry cake I ate very well. 🙂

The buffet consisted of heavy appetizers, like veggies, meatballs, and some yummy orangey chicken stuff. I filled up my plate twice but scarfed it down too quickly to photograph. I was cold, wet, and hungry – no judgment.

We definitely filled up the space to capacity! It was so cozy and fun to have so many guests stay for Katie & Jesse’s special day.

IMG_2061_2 IMG_2065_2So let’s back up… the bride and groom were announced!

IMG_2063_2And then they cut into the beautiful cakes… aka, my favorite part.

IMG_2084_2 IMG_2085_2 IMG_2086_2 IMG_2087_2No smeared frosting on the face here!  Just the way I would want it too. 🙂

And then I ate TONS of gummy bears from the candy station. They had cute bags made to fill up with your candy!

IMG_2067_2 IMG_2068_2And lastly, they danced…

IMG_2078_2 IMG_2080_2It was just an all-around precious and memorable day. I’m so happy for my best friend and her new hubby! They arrived in Mexico today for their honeymoon at an all-inclusive resort. Yes, I’m jealous. But more than anything, I’m happy for her…promise! 🙂

Soooo that’s Katie & Jesse’s wedding in a nutshell. I can’t wait to see the professional photos! Congrats you two!

Katie & Jesse’s Wedding, Part I

Happy Sunday Evening! Hope your weekend has been a good one! Mine was full of wedding goodness. 🙂

Katie’s Wedding, Part I

Saturday started bright and early with a Jazzercise class before I headed off to get my hair styled for Katie’s big day.

IMG_2028_2Ohhhhh, fancy! My stylist is amazing, and she was aware of the rainy weather that was on the way, so she pulled the front back into a chic braid to hold it all out of my face! I loved it!

IMG_2029 IMG_2030_2This updo took about 45 pins and 1.5 hours. But it held up all day – even through the pouring rain!

IMG_2032_2Mac loved it to, but he was sad that mommy was leaving for the day.

I ate a quick lunch at home before heading to the park to meet the gals. We met up at 1 PM to get our makeup and dresses on before the photos started at 2.

We had a private room with a bathroom at the park center. We took over rather quickly.

IMG_2036_2I was mostly ready minus my dress, so I kinda just helped everyone else and took photos of the bride.

IMG_2043_2 IMG_2042So pretty! Katie was glowing all day. And it just made my heart swell to see my best friend so happy!

I loved my dress. They were comfy and my alternations were done so nicely that I had no issues all day!

IMG_2049_2And then it was time for the bride to get into her gown with a little help from her momma.

IMG_2048 IMG_2050Her gown was vintage, classic, and sexy all at the same time. The back was open from the top down to her waist. Love love loved it!

But that’s enough for tonight. I started today with a 7 mile run (my longest yet!) and I’m exhausted! Part II is coming tomorrow with the ceremony and reception. Here’s a sneak peek…

IMG_2077_2Have a great night!

Katie’s Wedding Rehearsal

It was a beautiful night last night in the park for a wedding rehearsal!

IMG_2023I left work a little early today to get home and change before heading to the park where Katie & Jesse’s wedding will be taking place tomorrow evening. I had never really been down to the garden where the ceremony will take place. It was gorgeous!

IMG_1999 IMG_1997It’s completely covered by the tall trees making it feel very cool and cozy even though we’re in the middle of a large, public park. My favorite part is the little waterfall that we’ll be standing on top of tomorrow.

IMG_1996There were lots of people around taking pictures before a high school prom of some sort. But they quickly cleared out for our rehearsal.

The groom’s grandpa will be officiating the ceremony tomorrow.

IMG_2013He’s the cutest old guy! Katie had a nice little agenda made out for him so he could keep everything in line. With a little extra help from Katie of course. 🙂

IMG_2020 IMG_2003We practiced walking into position and back out down this cute little path. It’s the perfect little setting for a wedding!

And this is a my view from the top of the waterfall area.

IMG_2010Only tomorrow it’ll be filled with lots more family members and guests out there!

IMG_2017And no wedding would be complete without 2 tiny flower girls. 🙂 They are nieces of the groom and are cute as a button! One of them also provided my favorite pic of the evening..

IMG_2011Oh little girls that lift their dresses. They always make me laugh!

IMG_2002We all mozied around and ran threw the ceremony twice before heading off to dinner.

Katie found a great little venue/catering company to host our evening meal at The Event Center here in Springfield. We arrived a little early, but the food was ready quickly. I was ready to eat!

IMG_2025I had snacked on some almond butter (surprise, surprise) before I headed to the park early, so I tried to fill up on veggies as much as possible. I filled my plate with the mixed spinach salad and green beans before finishing it off with the amazing pulled pork and BBQ sauce. Yum! The meat was my favorite part even though it felt good to get some veggies in my tummy.

Nick was the most excited about the potatoes and the dinner rolls.

IMG_2027I never even keep potatoes in the house, so he was loving these buttery spuds! I chose to forgo the carbs as I tend to bloat up super easy, and I have a pretty dress to squeeze into later today!

Well I’m off to go get my hair done before meeting the gals at the park to finish getting ready. I’ll see you after the wedding!
