Chelsea’s Jazzercise Baby Shower

Hey there! Hope your Monday is going swell. Mine’s been flyin’ by, and I’m ready for a night of relaxation!

So yesterday I promised a recap of what else I did with my Valentine’s weekend. And it just so happens that I attended a fabulous baby shower for a fellow Jazzercise instructor!

Chelsea’s Shower Class

IMG_3317So, when you are a Jazzercise instructor, you don’t get the typcial ‘shower’ for special occasions like weddings or babies. You get the Jazzer treatment and of course, this centers around a fun, themed Jazzercise class!

IMG_3303Here’s Chelsea. Ain’t she cute with that little preggo belly? We celebrated her gender reveal with a Jazzercise Plus, 90 minute, class on Saturday morning. And it’s a BOY! Woot!! So Baby Boy Taylor is on the way this summer. We danced to lots of baby-themed songs to celebrate the expecting momma.

IMG_3305 IMG_3293I sure hope that I can still rock the stage when I have kids one day. Most instructors dance all the way through their pregnancies, so I won’t throw in the towel until my doctor says I have to! Chelsea rocked through the class with ease with the help of a few other instructors.

IMG_3291 IMG_3297I came as a student to class because I wasn’t sure how my morning run would leave me feeling. Sometimes I can feel great after a run, and sometimes I feel like I need to vomit for about an hour. Luckily my Saturday morning run left me feeling good! I was sore, but good. 🙂

IMG_3322So after this run, I ate a quick Greek yogurt and bagel in the car on the way over to the center. I was afraid my stomach would be upset, but everything settled fine, and I made it through the class without too much pain!

I was mostly looking forward to the treats though. 🙂  What baby shower would be complete without cupcakes and goodies?!

IMG_3308 IMG_3310Yum! All this sugar was definitely what my body was craving after that 90-minute class. I had a cupcake right away and a pretzel. Oh and a mustache shaped rice krispy treat!

IMG_3319Ha! All in celebration of the little boy that is on the way. It was a great class, and I’m so glad that I made it in time to participate as a student. It’s always refreshing to be in Jazzercise classes as a student. Makes me really appreciate the other instructors and how hard they all work!

IMG_3316And congrats to Miss Chelsea and her hubby on their baby boy. She’s 20 weeks along, so we have 20 more to wait to see this little bundle! (And P.S. Dede we missed you terribly!)

Well have a great night everyone. I’m off to enjoy an evening at home with my boys. I’ll see you tomorrow!

Valentine’s Weekend

Happy Sunday, ya’ll!! I’ve had a wonderful valentines weekend, and I hope you all have too.

Friday was filled with love, chocolate, and Jazzercise! Some of my favorite things. 🙂

I got Nick an assortment of gifts, including this giant Reese’s heart! (Which is now completely eaten, btw!) And he got me a very sweet card and a giant assortment of Russell Stover’s chocolates (which are also now gone!)

I told him I wanted chocolate this year, so chocolate is what I got! And I was one happy woman.

After teaching a Jazzercise class right after work full of love songs and a wine giveaway, Nick and I decided to go to our fave Mexican restaurant for dinner.

We didn’t have to wait for a table! And I got the chicken tacos for my main meal. It was tasty and so filling that I couldn’t even finish more than 1 taco. It a quick meal and a perfect end to our 3rd Valentine’s Day together.

Our ‘real’ Valentine’s Day dinner took place last night at Jimm’s Steakhouse. Nick made our reservations a week ago and I’ve been excited for our big meal ever since! I didn’t take any photos. I wanted to keep it phone-free and romantic as possible. 🙂 Nick had a giant steak, and I had a Cajun chicken and pasta dish that was amazing! But even more amazing was our dessert. We tried a cinnamon bread pudding, and it was completely decadent. I could’ve definitely skipped the entree and only had dessert it was so good!

The rest of my weekend was spent running and attending a Jazzercise baby shower class! But more on that tomorrow. This girl is hungry and dinner isn’t cooking itself tonight. Haha

See ya tomorrow!

Pre-Valentine’s Day Chocolate

Happy Thursday! Or Happy Valentine’s Eve! It’s beautiful sunny day here, and I’m lovin’ it. Fifty degrees feels marvelous after the snow and single digit temps last week.

So today has been pretty normal. I woke up early and got in my 4-mile run – my weekly Thursday routine.

IMG_3275I started out SO slow. I was tired and pretty fatigued from running + Jazzercise yesterday. So for the first mile, I was just barely jogging and throwing a pity party for myself. But then I thought, “This is the perfect time to throw in some speed work.” Running at full throttle with extremely tired quads is the perfect marathon training. It’s a good way to figure out how you may be feeling in the second half/last 10K of the race. So I pushed through 3 sets of 1.5(ish) minute sprints up the worst hills on my route. I’m not crazy – I was just determined. I also wanted to hurry up and get home. 🙂 So the faster I ran, the raster I would be done!

I arrived home to a whiny doggie, so I walked Mac around the block since I had a few minutes to spare before my morning rush started. Once we got home, I got ready and made it to work at my usual 15 minutes ’til 8. I had my normal breakfast foods with me…

IMG_3273But after eating this, I knew today it wasn’t going to last me long. I’ve been craving chocolate and sweets like there is no tomorrow. Around 10 a.m., it got bad. By the time lunch rolled around, I was almost sick. Have you ever gotten this way? I rarely crave foods this intensely, but I was ready to do anything to get my hands on some chocolate. Nick brought some Thin Mints home yesterday, so luckily I snagged a couple of those for my lunch dessert, but they didn’t quite do the trick.

Yes, I’m hormonal this week, and that never helps. And also, I’ve been working out a little more than normal by teaching extra classes this week. Maybe my body just wants some extra calories and sugar? Either way, I will definitely be getting a small sugar fix soon…like tomorrow maybe??!

val1I’m just taking my craving as a sign that my body is ready and excited for Valentine’s Day goodies!

trufflesNick, if you are reading this, please have some chocolate truffles delivered to my office tomorrow morning by 10 a.m. Please and thank you. 🙂  hah! Some of these might be nice too…

master_CHCC041In all seriousness, I will probably just end up buying myself some V-day chocolate tonight, eat a few pieces, and then share the rest with my Jazzercise ladies tomorrow night. I’m also considering bringing some red wine to use as a door-prize for anyone that comes to class tomorrow. I’m hoping at least a small handful of students decide to come dance regardless of the holiday!

Well I’m off to put together a new song set for tonight and find some sugar before my mind explodes. 🙂  Have a great night and I’ll see ya tomorrow for Valentine’s Day!
