Post-Christmas Shopping & Running

Hey there party people! I hope you’ve had a great day and your food hangovers have subsided. My belly is full once again after having leftovers all day, but at least we are on a downhill slide away from the holiday goodies!

It’s been a great day here at the Beishir household. We slept in until 7 a.m. It was a Christmas miracle!

Mac was a tired boy and mommy was thankful for extra sleep! After sleeping in and a hot cup of coffee, I headed out for a nice run in Arnold City Park.

The local park has a nice 3.1 mile loop which I overshot slightly. I completed two loops and 7.1 miles in 59 minutes. It was a good run but kinda painful after eating all the Christmas goodies! It felt good to sweat for sure.

Once I got home, we had a big breakfast before Nicks momma and I headed out for some post-Christmas shopping. Christmas decor at up to 80% off! Woot! I loaded up on lots of wrapping paper and bows and cards. And you know I can’t forget about Mr. Mac.

This cute poinsettia toy was only a buck, has no stuffing for him to pull out, and is instead filled with crinkly paper of some sort. He loves it!

Nick and I headed out to the Verizon store once I was done shopping with Karen. It was time to go get my Christmas gift from him : a new iPhone 5S! Yes, I’m blogging from it right now since I’m not home with my laptop. And yes, I love it. 🙂 he spoils me for sure.

Tonight we are just vegging out around the house. Karen has had quite the audience all evening! The puppies around here really love food.

Tomorrow I’m looking forward to squeezing in a Jazzercise class or two and maybe a shorter run. Then Saturday morning will be my 10-mile race in STL! I’m pretty excited for it. 🙂

Have a great evening and I will see you all later! Get excited for the weekend!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope you have had a wonderful day with your friends and family members.

We spent the morning with my parents and then arrived in St. Louis to be with Nick’s family early this afternoon. It’s been a great day filled with lots of family, traveling, and food!

I feel like a stuffed turkey right now (literally) after the feast we had this evening. I think some Jazzercise or a run might be a necessity tomorrow ASAP! The food was completely worth it though. 🙂

Mac, also known as Santy Paws, slept through most of the drive. He’s still pretty wiped out tonight. A good nights rest will do us all good.

I’m so thankful to be a part of 2 separate families that are both so loving. Nick and I got completely spoiled with gifts. Hopefully we can fit everything in the car to make it back to Springfield!

Well have a great Christmas night. Enjoy those leftover treats – spend time with your loved ones – and be thankful for everything you have been blessed with this year.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Who’s Ready for Christmas?!

Happy Monday to ya! So the big question of the day today: Who’s ready for Christmas??!! Ummm, MEE! I’ve been asked about half a dozen times this same questions around my office today, and it keeps making me smile.

tumblr_md94h1Rh2I1rhsaeko1_500HA! I love the movie Elf, and I can’t wait to watch it this week. It makes me laugh everytime. You know what else makes me laugh? This adorable gif I came across today. Commence smiling…

So this weekend, I worked out a lot (I taught 4 Jazzercise classes between Friday when I left work and this morning when I came back), so I felt extra inclined to indulge in some cookie baking.

photo(127)Christmas cookies are the best! I made 7 dozen cookies, half chocolate chip, half oatmeal raisin. I’m trying to get rid of as many of them as possible at work today. And I’ll take the extras along with us to my parents house tomorrow morning.

Baking cookies and goodies is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. I eat a ton of raw dough before I eat a freshly baked cookie, and then everyone else gets to enjoy them too once I’m on sugar overload. So it’s a win-win!

I’m looking forward to baking and cooking with my mom tomorrow once we get to Hartville. We are going to make her famous fudge recipe and homemade Chex mix – both staples at my family’s gathering every Christmas! It’s going to be a fat kids dream, and I’m going to love every minute of it without guilt. I ran 13 miles yesterday, so I deserve some cookies and fudge this week. 🙂

Tonight will consist of my 2nd Jazzercise class of the day, followed by lots of frantic packing so we can leave bright and early tomorrow. And when I say bright and early, I mean between 8 and 10 am because Nick is not a morning person, and it’s always a toss up as to how our morning will go. 🙂  But because of my late sleeper, I will get in a nice run before we hit the road. I’m not sure when my next run will be, so I can hopefully make it a good one.

Have a great Monday!
